The majority of voters, on November 7, 2006, elected Charles “Craig” Peoples the Pendleton County Sheriff.  By electing Peoples, the voters endorsed corruption, arrogance and incompetence.  Is it any wonder Pendleton County has the reputation throughout the Commonwealth and beyond of being a cesspool of crime, especially for drugs, corruption and homicide?  Even though we may have failed this time, I am proud to be among the minority of voters who stood tall and attempted to rid the county of its stench.  Perhaps, in the near future, justice will prevail.
